Merry Christmas 2017!

Merry Christmas from the Barlow Fam!

We loved being back "home" for Christmas this year, so much so, that we started our new traditions as soon as we could. We cut down a real tree during our Thanksgiving break. It was the first year we felt like we could make a real one work, and we have tall ceilings in our new house, so we cut down a 9 footer! Our elf, Sweet Pea, reappeared on December 1st, and with her came lots of fun hide-n-seek games. The kids did lots of Christmas crafts and watched too many Christmas movies during the month of December. Both kids love "Home Alone" and "Elf." Jon and I attended the Orthopedic Surgery Department holiday party for the first time since residency. It was a more mature experience this time around! :) We decorated gingerbread houses at Kylie's school, waited in line for the "real" Santa for two hours, and celebrated with 4 family Christmas gatherings! Here are some pics to tell the tales:

Our Christmas tree!

I got the kids matching jammies.
They wore them while we decorated the tree and the house!

Kylie and Brooks colored these masks then ran around all day pretending to be twin elves:
Snow and Flake.

After the Ortho holiday party.
L to R: Chris, Erica, me, Jon, and Brandon (we missed Kristen who was off partying in NYC!)

Classic Santa picture!
Quinn was not excited about sitting on Santa's lap.
Jon was equally unexcited about waiting in line for two hours.
Kylie, Brooks, and I were all happy!

This is the only picture I took after the King family Christmas.
My excuse for slacking was the Brooks and I were both feeling ill.
Mia gave this mermaid blanket to Kylie and she is obsessed with it!

We spent Christmas Eve and the day before in Hudson with the Barlow fam.
While there, I was able to get coffee with my college bestie, Erika!
I'm excited to live in the same state as her again and hope that we can get together more frequently.

On the 23rd, we had the annual Barlow baking day.
We made lots of goodies including: lefse, caramels, divinity, peanut brittle, gingerbread houses and much more!

Quinnie participated as much as she could!

Then Christmas Eve!
We went to church, ate the best meal ever, and opened gifts.
The cousins received their matching PJs.
Aren't they the cutest?

We drove home early Christmas morning.
Our gifts from Santa were waiting by the fireplace when we arrived.
We also opened our gifts to and from each other.

On Christmas Day, in the afternoon, we hosted my mom's side of the family here at our house.
We ate, chatted, opened a few gifts, and played games!

Brady is clearly comfortable holding babies.
Good thing too, since theirs is arriving in a couple of months!

Brooksie with his fingerling from Santa.

Ayanna and Kylie singing karaoke.

I love this picture of Jon.

We played Heads' Up!
It was hilarious, as always!

The kids played too!

Another wonderful Christmas in the books. As usual, it was amazing, but I'm happy to wait a year for the next one! :)
