Mud Day Celebration!

Apparently, there is an International Mud Day. I didn't know that such a thing existed, but it does. And the environmental center in Philly celebrates by gathering a bunch of kids together to play, paint, and jump in the mud. I can't take credit for discovering the celebration. My friend, Ashley, found out about it, and encouraged us to attend. I was a little skeptical at first because it sounded a little messy (and it was), but I'm glad we went. The kids had a lot of fun, and it just took a quick bath to make them all clean and shiney again! Totally worth it!

 Brooks jumped right in!

 Kylie started a little slower...
She painted with just her hands first.

 Then she jumped in too!

The four kiddos.
Holly (the little one sitting next to Brooks) clearly enjoyed herself the most!

Summer Lovin'--Picture Post Style!

We have been busy, and here are the pictures to prove it!

The boy loves him some spaghetti!

Turtle Family at Fitler Square.

This is where Brooks hit his head back in April.
I think he has forgiven the goat statue for the scar he now wears!

Wrestling...A common occurance thanks to daddy!

Going for her run!

Brooks' shirt is fitting.
This is day one without the pacifier.
He was crabby!

Kylie missed Jon after a few days apart.
She asked him if they could have a sleep over party in her bed!

There are a ton of spray grounds in Philly.
We had a playdate with some of our friends at this one in Manayunk.
Kylie and June.

Kylie, Brooks, and Luca.

Baby bottoms!
Luca, Kylie, Brooks, and Bennett.

Both of these kiddos love apples...Just like their dad!

Our apartment took park in a fundraiser called Alex's Lemonade Stand, which raises money for childhood cancer research by selling lemonade at stands around the country.
They asked Kylie to help sell lemonade...She loved it!

Our friends, the Blacks, have an indoor pool in their apartment building.
They invited us over for a swim one day.
My kids loved being there, but did not want to go in the water! :)

I ran in my 12th half marathon, the Oddyssey Half Marathon, here in Philly.
It was a blast and I set a new PR of 1:46:47.
Then I rewarded myself with a Diet Coke.

Happy to see daddy after a long day of work.

Ice cream lovers!

Jon and I celebrated our 6th anniversary at Zahav Kitchen Counter with some friends.
It's an Israeli restaurant, and we sat at the chef's counter and had an amazing 10 course meal!
Philly is a big food town with thousands of restaurants.
Zahav is one of five in town to receive four bells.
I don't know what it means...But it must be good.

We had a really rainy week last week.
After being stuck inside on a particularly rainy day, we had to get out for a little bit.
Kylie ended up splashing in every puddle she saw!

Since she was covered in mud from puddle jumping, we hopped straight in the bath tub.
Brooks loves baths!

Another play date with Philly friends.
Kylie and June.

Playing.

We surprised Jon with Phillies tickets for Father's Day.
It was a beautiful day for a game, and the Phillies won!

Doing some touristy things.
Rocky Statue.

Running the steps from the Rocky movie at the Art Museum.

This one cannot get enough fruit.

We met up with friends at Franklin Square.
Kylie and Natalie on the carousel.

Brooks and Holly.

Can you tell it was really hot?
Look at those red cheeks!

The mamas!
Me and Ashley.
I will miss this awesome lady and her sweet girls when we leave!

Preschool Days

Kylie officially wrapped up her home school preschool sessions back in May, but I will continue to review letters, numbers, and name spelling with her throughout the summer. We'll probably only formally do the review sessions one(ish) day each week, but I'm trying to informally throw in some learning during play time too. Here are some pictures to recap the year...
