Destin, FL

In Mid-April, we followed Jon to an orthopedics conference in Destin, FL. It was a fun time with lots of swimming (even though it wasn't as warm as we had hoped), eating, and family time!

The view from our hotel room.
GORGEOUS!

Swimming girlies!

Spring is Here...Sometimes!

Here is what we have been up to for the past few months - end of February - April. I realize the end of February doesn't really count as spring, but I had to include these last couple of pictures from the winter.

I was a mystery reader in Brooks' class in February.
It was sweet to see him excited to see me!

A Chair Affair is a big fundraiser for The Boys and Girls Club of Rochester.
We went with some friends and had a blast.
And the night ended just as the massive blizzard of 2019 began.
Following this night, we were trapped in our house for the next 3 days!
Here we are with the Yuans and Morreys.

Jon, Brandon, and Andy Sems.

We bought a few things.
This was Jon's purchase from the live auction, entitled The Club Chair.

Me and my love!

Brooks finished up the looooong hockey season the first weekend in March.
He really enjoyed playing, especially ice skating really fast.
We really enjoyed watching him!

I also got to see most of my high school girlfriends and their kids that first weekend of March.

Pink Stars: Molly, Schroeder, me, Ruth, Amanda, Kristin.
Just missing Marissa.

We also had a fun visit with the Engstroms.
Hacker is Jon's best friend from high school and college.

We took a party bus to the St. Paul Grille to celebrate our friend, Megan's, 40th birthday!

Then the ice dams struck.
We had two, one of which caused quite a bit of damage in our kitchen.
We had to make an insurance claim, but thankfully it was covered and fairly quickly repaired.

Water damage in the kitchen.
At one point, water was leaking in at a rapid pace.

The kids had spirit week at school leading up to spring break.
This was Wacky Wednesday.
Brooks had a lightning bolt and Kylie had star hair.

Then Spring Break began with sleepovers for both Kylie and Brooks.
Brooks had Bennett over to our house.

And Kylie stayed over at the Yuan's house along with Annabelle.

We also went to the Science Museum...

...got a new-to-us mini van in preparation for baby #4's arrival...

...spent a morning at Oxbow....

...and painted with Halle and Blair at Color Me Mine.

Quinn learned how to take selfies.

Brooks drew a cool polar bear.

April arrived and brought with it some warmer weather!

Erica, Kristen, and I are able to help each other out with some babysitting during different appointments and such.
I had Emme and Meredith over one morning.
They are becoming sweet friends!

This is a picture that Erica sent me of Emme and Quinn!

We dyed Easter eggs.

We spent Easter at the Barlow's, but before we headed up there we went to an Easter Egg Hunt with the Yuan and Camp families.

Quinn with her Easter basket.

Me with my favorite kids!
Jon was on call, and couldn't make it to Easter this year.

Matchy sisters.

And the big Barlow family (minus Jon).

It's been a wonderful spring. We are looking forward to a wild May...Baby Boy Barlow to arrive any day now! :)

Magnolia - Waco, Tx

In Mid-March, Kylie, Brooks and I took a long anticipated trip to Waco, TX to experience all the Magnolia/Fixer Upper/Chip and JoJo things. We went while Jon was away at a conference, and my mom and dad were able to watch Quinn. And the best part about the whole trip was that we got to do it with some of our besties from Columbus - Annie, Claire, and Kerri Hart! AND we even got to see the Hartzler gang for a short time too! It was so fun and I'm so glad I got to have that special time with my two older kids before we add another little baby to the family!

Upon arrival on Thursday afternoon, we promptly went to the Magnolia Silos, which is also where the bakery and main store are located. The weekend we were there also happened to be the annual Spring Celebration so it was slammed. First, we waited in line for the bakery for about 45 minutes. It was well worth the wait...The cupcakes and cookies were fantastic! Then we decided to quickly check out the Magnolia store before heading to our VRBO for dinner and an early bedtime.

Outside the bakery.

Waiting patiently with my two big kids!

The Silos!

We had prime seating for cupcake eating.

This is right inside the store!
Super cute!

On Friday morning, we decided we better get up and check out the Magnolia Table - Chip and JoAnna's restaurant. This was at a completely different location than the Silos. We showed up early, around 7:30am, but still had to wait about an hour to get our names on the waiting list. Once we got our names on the list we were told it would be another 3 hours before we even had a table!! Thankfully, they will hold your table even if you leave and just ask that you come back about 30 minutes before your wait is up. Since we had about 2.5 hours, we decided to head back down to the Silos to check out all the vendors that were there for the Spring Celebration. There was a ton of cute stuff, and we were there early enough to beat the rush. After that, we headed to a different part of Waco to see Clint Harp's (JoJo's favorite woodworking guy) shop. He had a teeny, tiny shop, but lots of cute stuff! Finally, around 11:30am, we were seated at the Magnolia Table restaurant. The food was delicious and well worth the wait!

L to R: Brooks, Kylie, Annie, Claire.

Love these two sweethearts!

Our group.

One more with all of us.

After lunch, we decided it best to have a little down time at the VRBO. In the evening, we headed back down to the Silos for JoJo's book release of "We Are the Gardeners," which is her first childrens' book. We paid an extra admission and were given a signed copy of the book and the opportunity to watch a live interview with JoAnna. We sat in the yard and watched as Samantha Ponder interviewed JoAnna on stage. We were also lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Chip and all of their kiddos. It was fun to see them in person!

Witten, Hugh, and Brooks.

On Saturday, we  were so lucky to see the Hartzlers who had driven up from San Antonio to see us while we were in their state. We met them at the Silos Saturday morning and enjoyed  a little lunch and play time together.

Crazy to think Hugh and Brooks were babies when we last lived in the same town.

One last picture of my sweet Kylie girl at the airport on our way home!

We had such a fun trip and made some incredible memories!
