Water Baby!

As I've said many times in previous posts, we have had beautiful weather down here in Florida. In fact, it has been really hot...So hot that I felt bad for Kylie for being stuck in the stroller while I have been enjoying the water. Last week, I decided it was time for Kylie to try "swimming." One day when we went to the pool, Kylie was actually awake and looked eager to touch the sparkling blue water. So I slipped her little, pink swimsuit on her and hopped in the water. We sat in a shaded spot for about 2 minutes, and I dipped her legs in the water. The pool was pretty chilly so she didn't love it, but I think it cooled her down. She immediately fell asleep when I put her back in her stroller.

Last Saturday, we spent the day at the beach with the Hartzlers for some fun in the sun. Rob found a volleyball group online that meets every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for some beach volleyball. We thought it would be fun to play for a while and then head down to the water for the afternoon. So Rob, Jon and I played volleyball for a couple of hours while Sari watched the action AND generously kept an eye on Kylie for me. After volleyball, we went down to the beach, ate lunch, and played in the water. We tried boogie boarding and just hung out in the sun. Kylie took a really long nap, ate a little, and touched the ocean for the very first time! She was a champ!

This is when Kylie touched the ocean for the first time. She liked the ocean much better than the swimming pool! No tears were shed! :)

Here is our camp. We have a nice, big umbrella to keep the little ones shaded and a little cot for the kids to lounge!
