Kylie is 7!

Happy 7th Birthday to Kylie!

On November 19th, 2017, Kylie Kristen turned 7 years old. It's so hard to believe this girl is already 7 with her own personality and opinions. The years have certainly flown by. She is still just as sweet, kind, and caring as ever. She is a social butterfly and loves to make new friends. She is almost always happy, and hardly ever angry. She is prone to tears, but can pull it together like a champ. She has added so much fun, sweetness, and love to our family. We feel extremely blessed to be her parents.

A few other things she likes...Reading, writing stories, making lists, doing math, coloring (especially adult coloring books), playing board games, doing science experiments, swimming, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, eating dessert, making crafts, choosing her outfits, sledding, and playing with her friends,

A few things that she dislikes...Leaving friends and family, disappointing anyone, having her hair combed, being alone, saying good bye.

Milestones are really hard to distinguish at this age, as most things seem to change slowing over time. She is doing well in school. She reads at a second/third grade level. She scored 99th percentile on the national reading test and 98th percentile on the national math test. Her teacher said that she is very responsible, respectful, and follows the rules. She is a great leader. She gets herself completely ready for school and bed. She brushes her teeth, changes clothes, combs her hair, makes her own breakfast, makes her bed, packs most of her lunch, and gets her back pack in order each day. She is an excellent eater, and will try almost anything we give her without complaint. She is a great sleeper too. She sleeps from about 7:30/8pm-7:30am. She goes to school from about 9am-3:30pm. I drive her to school in the morning, but she rides the bus home, and loves it!

She loves sports and activities. She really loves gymnastics and can do cartwheels, one hand cartwheels, handstands, backward rolls, pull-ups, and pull overs well. She is doing a basic handspring on the vault, and round off as well. She is still doing well in swimming as well, and is level 6 in the swim america program. She played volleyball this fall, and is doing basketball now, both of which she needs lots of work in but really enjoys. She has told me that she didn't love soccer, so we are scratching that from the activity list for now!

Kylie had her yearly well child check up in December. She weighed 55 pounds (71st percentile) and was 50 inches tall (85th percentile). She is also currently missing 5 teeth, and her top two have been out for 7-8 months. We are headed to the dentist soon to figure out how to make those buggers come through! :)
