Happy Thanksgiving 2016!
This Thanksgiving was an extra special one. Not only was it our first in our new house, but Grandma Kriss and Grandpa Doug were able to celebrate it with us. They arrived on Tuesday afternoon and spent a couple of hours hanging out with us before heading to their hotel. Wednesday was a big cooking day. We bought groceries in the morning, then spent the afternoon prepping and cooking for the big day. That evening we went to Dewey's, our favorite pizza joint, with Grandma and Grandpa as well as Greg and Kaaren. Thursday, we woke up bright and early to run the Turkey Trot. Only the kids ran this year. Then we headed back home to cook the turkey and put the finishing touches on the rest of the meal. We ate a wonderful meal consisting of turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, scalloped corn, peas, cranberry sauce, asian quinoa salad, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and pecan pie with ice cream. It.Was.Ah-mazing! Then we watched a little football and took a late afternoon walk around the neighborhood. We couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving!
Grandma made cinnamon rolls.
We had to eat one straight out of the oven, even though it was 5:30pm.

The delicious meal!
The kids needed a little bit of a ride during our afternoon walk!
