Fun in the Hot, Hot Sun!

This month has brought some wonderful hot and dry (as in not rainy) weather. It's been sunny and humid, and we are loving it because it means we get to play outside (mostly in the water as you will see). Here are some pictures of our most recent adventures:

Like father, like son.

Both kids had hair cuts at a kids' salon called Cookie Cutters.
We are all fans!

Lots of different water activities.
This is a game that my friend, Emily, taught us.
It's called paint the driveway with water.
It kept the kids happy for hours!

Watering plants/playing with the hose is a go-to activity to combat boredom in our house.

I LOVE this picture!
Her laugh is the best.

Scioto Mile splash park activities.

A fountain in Dublin.

We have visited many different parks.
And Kylie learned how to pump by herself on the swings.
It's great that she can swing independently, but I can't believe how fast she is growing up!

Kylie had her first bee sting. Tear.

Of course, summer means lots of dirt, so there have been lots of baths!

We had a play date with our friends from Philly who are in Columbus this year for a fellowship!

Kylie and I both had dentist appointments.
My sweet girl has a small cavity starting that they are going to watch for a year.
I had four cavities (my first ones!) that I had to have filled. Oops!

After we got home from Kylie's appointment, Brooks decided to eat this tube of toothpaste.
I panicked a little and called poison control.
Apparently it's not a big deal unless they eat more than 2 ounces...He only ate about .85 ounces.
This boy is giving me gray hairs!

We attempted potty training with the boy and he broke.us.down.
All was well for the first 3 days, then the next 3 days were all down hill.
He peed everywhere except in the toilet, seemingly on purpose.
So we quit. We'll try again in a few months.

We've done gymnastics camps, classes, and open gyms.
We are all thankful for this outlet!

There have been some fairs and festivals in town.
This one was a Summer Celebration complete with inflatables and a train ride (pictured here).

And this was at the "Grandview Hop."

Kylie learned how to draw hearts.

Emily and I (we now call ourselves Emily Squared) ran a 5k!

Jon and I had a date night! Yay!

And I made 4 more quilts this month.
I'm not posting the pictures of the others because they haven't been given away yet!

We have been busy, busy, busy, but we love, love, love it!
