Happy Halloween!

We had a fantastic Halloween! Kylie was dressed as a cow and I was the farmer! :) AND the best part was that once she figured out she was getting lots of candy, she absolutely loved it! Just like her mama! She walked up to the door and said, what sounded like, "cookie," but I think meant, "trick-or-treat."  Then she would leave each house with a huge smile and practically prance to the next house! We also had supper with the Hartzlers, went door to door with them for about 20 minutes, then visited my parents and Grandma King in Stewie! It was lots of fun, and suuuuper cute too!

This one is from the other night.
We carved pumpkins with some friends.
I think it is my new favorite family picture!

Gymnastics!

Little Miss Kylie FINALLY started gymnastics last week! I think she is doing pretty well considering it's her first class. She really likes to do forward rolls, climb through the tunnel, and walk on the balance beam. She is not a huge fan of the foam pit or sitting to listen to instructions. I have been impressed with how quickly she has picked up some of the skills. She can already do forward rolls and handstands on the wall all by herself! I LOVE that she is enjoying herself, and I hope she will want to continue gymnastics for many years to come!

Big Girl

Kylie Bean is 23 months old and officially a big girl!

Kylie is growing up so fast. She acts like a toddler. She looks like a toddler. And now she is officially a toddler...She moved downstairs to her new "big girl" room! She did great with the move. She is still sleeping like a champ, and likes to play in her new room by herself. I enjoy her new found independence, yet am sad that she needs her mommy less. Her new room doubles as the guest room, but there is plenty of room for all of her stuff, and the guest bed. AND she has upgraded to a bigger closet, which she badly needed! The girl has A LOT of clothes!

Her "big girl" room.
She is still sleeping in a crib.
Although Kylie could probably handle a bed, I'm not quite there yet!

Daddy has been home more now that he is done with his trauma rotation.
We have loved it!
Kylie asks for "dada" every morning when she wakes up.
When I tell her that he is at work, she says, "doctor."

 Looking like a toddler!
Where did all that baby chub go?

The Apple Orchard

Well, we finally made it to an apple orchard on the last really warm day. We packed a lunch, and met up with some friends at Northwoods Apple Orchard near Douglas. We had a blast looking at the animals, playing in the hay, petting the stray kitten, eating yummy donuts, and riding on the wagon! It was a great way to enjoy a beautiful day!

This was the best picture I got of the kids...They are all looking up!
L to R: Helen, Witten, Kylie, Annabelle, and Halle

I think Kylie looks cute in this one, even though no one else is really looking.
We added a few more kids...
Bottom row: Helen, Brielle, Kylie, Annabelle, and Halle
Top: Tate and Witten

Witten was pulling all the girls around in the wagon.
Kylie loved it!

The kids were too busy looking around on the wagon ride to smile at the camera!

Autumn Awesomeness!

This autumn weather has been amazing, and we are grateful that we get to take advantage of it every day! Over the past couple of weeks, we have gone to the park, had several picnics and bonfires, and checked out Oxbow one last time for the year with some of our friends. Jon also finished up his trauma rotations (he did two in a row), and has no more over night hospital call for the next nine months! After being on call every 4th night for six months, he deserved a little celebration! When he arrived home from his last call day, Kylie and I had balloons and funfetti cupcakes (his favorite) waiting for him! We also celebrated with a cook-out and bonfire party with the entire trauma crew (8 residents and their families)! AND Jon and I were able to have a much overdue date night with dinner at Zzest and drinks at The Loop! It has been a fantastic fall!

We are so proud of his hard work...and so happy to have him home a little more! :)
