6 Weeks Old

Every month, I'm going to take Kylie's picture next to her Gloworm, or "Gloweem" as I called mine as a child, to show her growth! Here she is holding her Gloweem's hand and showing off her double chin!

This one is for Auntie Mia! Kylie found her thumb today...I am praying that it was a fluke and not a new habit! Nonetheless, I really love this picture!


It's hard to believe, but Kylie is already 6 weeks old! I would like to post monthly updates of Kylie's likes, dislikes and milestones on the 19th of each month, but since we were still in the hospital at one month I figured I would post a 6 week update this time!

At 6 weeks, Kylie likes sleeping, eating, taking baths, cuddling and relaxing in her vibrating mini crib. She continues to be very vocal with lots of little grunts, squeals, laughs and squeaks...She is even vocal in her sleep! She is getting chubby...She has a big pot belly, a double chin and rolls on her thighs. She makes many facial expressions (by accident) including smiles, frowns and furrowed brows. She still has quite a bit of hair and her dimples are becoming more pronounced as she gets chubbier!

Kylie does not like having her diaper changed, getting out of the bath, or waiting for her bottle when she is ready for it. She lets us know when she is unhappy by screaming and wailing loudly. She is consolable though, and usually turns the water works off as soon as we pick her up or stick her pacifier in her mouth!

As far as Kylie's milestones go, she is wearing newborn diapers and clothes. Sometimes I put her in 0-3 month clothes, but she is still pretty much drowning in those. She weighs over 7 pounds, though we won't know her exact weight until Tuesday. She eats about 2 ounces every 2-3 hours. She sleeps in her big girl crib in her nursery during the day and her bassinet in mom and dad's room at night.

Her mom and dad are loving being parents more and more everyday. We love our little bean so much and we are looking forward to watching her continue to grow and change each and every day!
