The Craziest Time of Our Lives!

I have to say that these first few weeks back in Minnesota have been the craziest days of our lives. We moved from Ohio to Minnesota with a three week old baby, bought a house, and the kids started at new schools and Jon started a new job. It has truly been a wild ride. But it's also been so fun and sweet to be back "home" with our families. We have been able to see our parents and brothers/sisters several times. The kids love playing with their cousins. And we have picked right up where we left off with our residency friends, the Camps and Yuans, who are also staying here for the long haul. We feel extremely lucky to be back!

Kylie was so excited to start 1st grade.
She is the most flexible, kind, and happy kid.
Nothing is too hard or scary or stressful for her.
If only I could be a little more like that!

Lining up at school on day 1.

She rides the bus too.
She's such a big girl!

Kylie's friend, Annabelle, had her birthday party at the local climbing gym.
Kylie dominated!

Brooks got to go to because Annabelle's little brother, Bennett, is Brooks' new bestie!

Brooks was pretty excited for his first day too.
There were a few tears, but he pulled it together quickly, and has been rocking it every since!

We have these awesome trails in our back yard!
We have loved exploring when the weather is nice.

Bennett, Blair, and Brooks.
The three B's, all born within one month of each other!

We have lots of wild life in our new neighborhood, so we bought a trail cam.
Here is one of the three bucks we see on a regular basis.

And the turkeys come by almost every day for a visit.

My animal lover and I (and Quinn) went to Oxbow on morning to check out the Minnesota animals.
Brooks ran from exhibit to exhibit spewing fun facts about each animal.

We walk to Kylie's bus stop when the weather is nice.
Brooks plays in the dirt and climbs trees as we wait.

Our dear friends, the Hartzlers, came up for a visit.
Jon and Rob.

The kiddos.
Witten, Hugh, Brooks, Helen, Walter, and Kylie.

Sari and I with Quinn.

We went to Apple Ridge Orchard to pick apples.
Blair and Brooks.

Kylie, Halle and Blair.

Tummy Time, Lotion in Brooks' hair, and Pastries with Parents at Kylie's school.

Brooks learned how to ride a bike without training wheels.

Kylie went to her first sleep over.
L to R: Annabelle, Kylie, Halle, and Blair.

Jon, Quinn, and I went to Austin, TX for a weekend with Jon's mom.
It was a whirlwind, but very fun to get away!

The End of a Chapter.

Our last few weeks in Columbus were eventful ones. We spent a lot of time trying to squeeze in our favorite activities for the last time, as well as see all of our friends as much as we possibly could. Not to mention that Quinn also joined our family on August 9th, and we had to get ready for a cross country move on August 30th. It was fun and wild!

We went to Recreations Outlet.

Silly faces!

We also made it to the Ohio State Fair at the end of July.
That Fair has nothing on the Minnesota State Fair, and we can't wait to attend the Great Minnesota Get-Together next year!

I think we went to the zoo 5 or 6 times over the summer.
We will greatly miss that place!

We went to COSI one last time!
Another Columbus favorite!

Jon and I enjoyed a few date nights at our favorite restaurants.
We hit up Third and Hollywood, Watershed, and The Barn in our last few months.

We had breakfast with friends at Katalina's.

Then we welcomed Quinn on August 9th!
So glad she gets to be a Buckeye Baby!

Grandma Kriss came down to Columbus to help out after Quinn was born.
I would not have been able to survive those first few days without her there.
She cooked, cleaned, held Quinn, and entertained Kylie and Brooks.

Kylie and Quinn look a lot alike as babies.
Top - Quinn, Bottom - Kylie
It will be interesting to see if they continue to look alike as they get older.

We had a playdate with Annie and Claire while their mom, Kerri, cooked dinner for us!

Kylie and Brooks have developed an even deeper bond since Quinn was born!

Our last weekend in Columbus, we had our annual s'mores night with the Hart and Flores families.
This is all of us!

Annie and Kylie.

We also had a baby shower for Emily who is expecting twin girls in December!
I was so grateful that she was willing to have an early shower so I could attend!
L to R: Kerri, Emily and me.

Finally, the movers arrived to pack and load all of our stuff.
Saying good-bye to Columbus was hard. We loved our time there and plan to visit frequently!

Month 2

Quinnie is two months old!
At two months old, Quinn is becoming a champion night time sleeper, waking only once and sometimes sleeping through the night. She goes to bed at 7:30pm, takes a dream feed at 9:30pm, and typically wakes sometime between 3am-5am for her midnight snack. During the day, she isn't yet taking regular naps, but seems to usually take a decent rest from about 9-11am, with the rest of the naps coming irregularly. She is still eating every 2.5-3 hours during the day and is growing like a weed. She had her two month check up on October 9th, and she weighed 11 lbs., 6 oz., and was 22 inches long! That's about 50th percentile for weight, and 30th for height!

Getting stronger!

Once a Buckeye Baby, always a Buckeye Baby!

Meeting great grandma and grandpa for the first time!

Quinn adores her big sister!

Jon and I took a quick weekend trip to Austin, TX for work, and brought Quinn with us,
She was excellent!
